As self-explanatory as the title sounds, I thought I would explain a little more.
The idea with this thread is to have a lighter discussion of which Star Wars novels users have read, or are reading at the moment, without getting into the tiny details, in-depth reviews, and analysis of each one. It's basically a social thread related to the Star Wars expanded universe, so to speak.
So tell the world what you're reading at the moment! Perhaps even give your general impression of the book, any recommendations, etc. Hopefully this will spark some discussions that we can take to other, more specific threads where the topic can be discussed exclusively and in-depth.
Happy reading!
Oh, and um...
NO SPOILERS!

Excellant.
Okay...I am reading a relatively new series called CHERUB...go teenage James Bond-like people!
I'm waiting for Tempest, HP7, Inheritance 3, CDF 12, and some others. |

I've accomplished my mission of getting caught up in the NJO era, finishing the final Dark Nest book a couple of days ago. The NJO had its ups and downs, but overall I thought the first half of the series was good, and the second half was outstanding.
It seems that a lot of EU fans didn't enjoy the Dark Nest trilogy, but I loved it. Denning's battle scenes are completely unpredictable; they don't seem to be ridiculously formulaic, as too many other Star Wars books were (*coughdestiny'swaycough*). The villains were an interesting twist on the typical Dark Jedi routine, and posed some interesting challenges to the characters (I won't say any more).
Now I am finally ready to read Bloodlines! I'm about 100 pages into the book so far. There are a few things that have irked me, but the novel overall is good. _________________ Everything I tell you is a lie. |

One Word: Bloodlines.
Words of description: AWESOME!!!! Although I just started, it is a must read for any Star Wars fan! I'm not going to spoil anything, but you'll notice a simular format for the beggining of each chapter. _________________ "It's like we're real soldiers!"

I started reading Triple Zero... Now, I'm not so angry against Traviss so as not to read her books. But, I tell you, I stopped reading Trip Zip after...
Oops, no spoilers!

I'm currently reading Betrayal. Love it! It's awesome!!!
I won't read Bloodlines. I already found out what happens in the story from Mina and that's enough. I'm disappointed enough just from her review...
I'm planning on reading the Dark Nest triology next! I can't wait for that series! |

In that case, we should start up a Triple Zero-dedicated thread...

I thought you would love that book, hansgirl. Betrayal is all about the "old crowd" from the movies getting mixed up in another mess and still fighting the good fight, even if it ends up pitting them against each other. That's what I loved about it. _________________ Everything I tell you is a lie. |

I am currently reading Outbound Flight. So far it is great. I am only halfway, so please no "Wow, I can't believe Doriana dies!"
From what I have read, I would certainly recommend this book. |

I think I will be re-reading Traitor, as part of my post-Bloodlines therapy. Going on the TFN boards helped somewhat, as I saw that many shared my opinions on the subject and didn't simply read the book and exclaim "OMG MANDOS!!!! THIS BOOK ROXXXXXX!!!!!1"
I'm still looking forward to Tempest, though. Denning can sort out this mess. Help me Troy, you're my only hope!
Oh, and I'm very excited for Path of Destruction, which should be out on September 26th. Except for the fact that it's a hardcover. _________________ Everything I tell you is a lie. |

I figure I'll add some to blood to this discussion. I'm reading the Bartimaeus Trilogy. It's a good read if you're into fantasy/magic. _________________ So long and thanks for all the fish |

I REALLY liked Outbound Flight! I know a lot of you guys don't like Timothy Zahn, but I think as an author, he is outstanding! He doesn't do well with writing about emotions, but his ability for complex plots and beautiful imagery make his Star Wars world come alive!
And... I really like those ghost ship stories! They're the Star Wars campfire stories! |

Outbound flight was exceptional. I enjoy most of Zahn's books. My brother just started a non-Star Wars series of his. Something about thieves and dragons. I'll read it if he thinks its good. _________________ So long and thanks for all the fish |

I just finished Outbound Flight today. I loved it! I also agree with you about Zahn...
I also loved the ROTS novelization. It was so much better than the actual film, and it really brought more depth to the movie. I got it when it first came out - no spoiler-freeness for me! It was actually the first SW novel that I paid full price for. Ah, memories...
